Abstract: The article provides the first translation of Giordano Bruno’s (1548–1600) treatise “The Art of Memory” (“Ars memoriae”) into Russian, more precisely, the end of the second part (which includes two sections: “De adjectis” (“On the Adjectives”) and “De organo” (“On the Instrument”) and the third part (“Tertia pars”). The treatise “The Art of Memory” is a part of the treatise “De umbris idearum” (“On the Shadows of Ideas”). The work “On the Shadows of Ideas” and the beginning of “The Art of Memory” (section “On Subjects” (“De subjectis”)) have been published by us in this journal before. In our translation we tried to take into account our previous translator’s errors (for example, the word “subjectum” was previously incorrectly translated as “matter” (рус. «предмет»), now we translate it actually as “subject”). In the introductory article we tried to give our, still approximate, understanding of Bruno’s text. In short, we are dealing with a mnemonic treatise, based on some deeper philosophy (presented in the treatise “On the Shadows of Ideas”). The translation from Latin was made from the edition of Salvator Tugini, Berlin, 1868.
