Imago of the Fragmented Body

Abstract: The article examines such elements of images as fractures and dissections. On the one hand, the J. Lacan’s concept of the imago of the fragmented body, on the other hand, the C. Lévi-Strauss’s analysis of split representation allows us to unite various elements into a common class and offer an attempt at its interpretation. Based on some terms of these works, the article offers a generalized view of the elements of dissection in images. The first part provides a brief reconstruction of the mentioned works. The second part presents an independent construction based on the concepts of graphics and plasticity, derived from the indicated articles. The third part provides examples of graphic fragmentation and its connection with the main theses of the second part.
