Abstract: This article is written in the genre of a free philosophical sketch based on the discussion of A.P. Ogurtsov’s book “Alienation, Reflexion and Practice”. The main theme is alienation as a constant refrain of philosophical thought since the time of the ancient pre-Socratics. Throughout the centuries man has been thought by philosophy as a being alienated from himself and from the world. Moreover, the world too appears to be torn, divorced from himself — into falsity and truth. As man comes to know the world, he seeks to bring it into a closed, consistent picture that attempts to leveling or closing this gap.
