Helen Petrovsky. Philosophy of the New Enlightenment. On philosopher’s anniversary

Abstract: The article is devoted to the work of the Russian philosopher Elena Petrovskaya on the occasion of her anniversary. The author examines the key themes and concepts of her works, especially the book “Disturbance of the Sign” (2019): dynamic sign, abduction, pathos formula, photogenia. Petrovskaya’s approach to photography, cinema and contemporary art as ways of understanding modernity, identifying “weak” signals and affective communities is analyzed. Her role in the development of poststructuralist thought in Russia, her connection with philosophers (W. Benjamin, J.-L. Nancy, G. Deleuze) and her contribution to philosophical anthropology and aesthetics are emphasized. The article also touches upon her translation and editorial activities.
