Abstract: Review of the collection of articles “Metaphysics and Post-Metaphysical Thinking” (Moscow: Academic Project, 2020. — 307 p.). The collection is based on the results of an international conference and consists of two sections (“General Questions” and “Personalities”). The authors discuss the problem of the crisis of metaphysics and the possibility of post-metaphysical thinking. The first section examines the definition of metaphysics, its subject and factors of implementation. The second section analyzes the views of Bergson, Marcel, Collingwood, Foucault, Castoriadis, Ricoeur, Heidegger and other thinkers. Particular attention is paid to Bergson’s reform of metaphysics, Marcel’s existential metaphysics and the critique of the concept of “world” in contemporary philosophy.
Aristova E.P. Ambrose of Milan and Aurelius Augustine on the Soul. — Moscow: Golos, 2021. The book is devoted to a little-studied topic — the ideas of the soul in Ambrose of Milan and Aurelius Augustine. Aristova analyzes the methods of identifying philosophical concepts from the religious text of Ambrose, shows the cognitive territory of the Middle Ages (mens, ratio, intellectus, intentio). Special attention is paid to the distinction between the concepts of spiritus, animus and anima, as well as the comparison of Christianity and Neoplatonism. The book is based on the method of “direct vision” and allowing the text to speak for itself.
