Abstract: The proposed text — the continuation of translation of the Dutch theologian, historian and philologist G. J. Foss, «Ars historica», launched in № 23–28 «Vox». The eleventh chapter defines the subject and laws of history, briefly describes its external boundaries. The main attention is paid to its internal content: the semantic connection of various methods of narration and their relationship.
