Abstract: The paper deals with a specificity of empirical foundation of scientific knowledge, which became actual after the transition of natural science to the investigation of unobservable entities. It’s essence consists in the availability of “a circle” in the procedure of empirical foundation. Epistemological sources of it lay in the “subject’s withstanding to nature” (M. Heidegger), idea of which originates in copernican turn in epistemology realized by Kant. But according to the author of the paper there is a defect in the reconstruction of the procedure of empirical foundation given by Popper and Heidegger. Elimination of it permits to reconstruct the procedure as adequate to the real state of things.
